The collected private copying remunerations are paid to the rights owners whose works have been copied, such as:
  • the musicians performing on a recording ·
  • the producers of recordings
  • songwriters, whose works appear on a recording
  • the writer, director and actors of a movie

Collective societies help to distribute the remunerations
The collected remunerations are distributed to the rights owners through collecting societies. The distribution of the private copying remunerations consists of individual and collective compensations.

Individual compensation is paid to the authors, artists, directors and other creators whose works have been played on the radio, shown on television or made into sound or video recordings. These individual payments are distributed to rights owners by copyright societies. The funds that are collected for collective purposes are distributed to promote movie and music culture, audiovisual culture and other arts.
